Beautiful Batik tank top with Ganesha design
The material becomes softer after a few washes, as with any batik apparel.
This is because the technique uses wax to paint the fabric, which makes the fabric stiff.
It eases out into soft smooth cotton just after 2-3 washes.
About the Technique:
Batik is a method of 'wax resist' dying.
The artist applies wax in the pattern or design of his/her choice before dying the entire cloth in a colour.
The portions with wax on them remain uncolored, thus creating the required pattern.
The wax is then removed by washing the fabric in boiling water.
This is repeated several times, with multiple colours till the required pattern or painting is achieved!
